Trees is something of a post-modern Grimm fairy tale about a boy and a girl who meet in the woods and fall in like. After the girl mysteriously dies lying on the rail road tracks for 8 hours, the boys seeks comfort from the Philosopher in the Car.

The of Trilogy comprises three vignettes regarding the lighter side of human isolation. "The Story of Carl" is about a man waiting at a desolate train station for his mother who accidentally left him there as a child. "The Documentary of Rick" is about a man with a masking tape fetish who tortures himself because his god dislikes him. "The Tragedy of Larry" is about an artist who murders because he can only paint still lives.
