When I graduated college in 1992, there weren’t a whole lot of jobs to be had, especially for a film major. It was difficult even to get hired back at the dry cleaners where I had been working on & off since I was 14. I started writing this comic strip called Stupendous Chick to keep in touch with people and complain about the sorted details of my employ. The strip was later changed to EveryJane because of "Stupendous Man" featured in Calvin & Hobbes.
